CCTV Lens Calculator


You can work out the lens required using this simple method:

Distance from object multiplied by the Size of the CCD chip in mm, divided by horizontal or vertical Area equals the Lens required.
D x S = L
A

The larger the CCD chip in the camera, the greater the field of view.

Below are typical CCD Chip sizes
 - 1/3" = 4 mm
 - 1/4" = 3.25 mm
