HD and Blade Internet viewing

Question: I have configured my DVR and router to connect remotely, however I get to the DVR logon and cannot log on/view video

Answer(s):
Ensure you are using Internet Explorer(IE) on Windows or Safari on Mac OSX 10.5.x or 10.6.x
Ensure your DVR is updated to the latest firmware version
 - Some versions had some issues with Windows Vista/7 and Internet Explorer security updates.
 - Certain older versions do not support OSX viewing.
See HD Firmware Updates and Blade Firmware Updates for download and update instructions.

For Windows:

Install the Active X control and program from Ultracker
If this will not install, the IE may not be functioning correctly or your security settings are set too high and are preventing installation of the active X control/program.

Ensure your Windows and IE are up to date (Windows Update)

You can try resetting your IE settings
-    Press Alt to open menu if not displayed
-    click 'Tools' menu
-    select 'Internet Options' from popup menu
-    click the Advanced Tab and
-    click the button 'Reset'
This will reset your IE to default settings and it may correct the installation problem.

If this doesn't help, you can check your Windows installation is all okay
(you will need your installation disk)
-    Click Start,
-    Select Run (for windows XP only),
-    type cmd into the box and Enter/OK
NB. If running Windows Vista or 7, you will need to right click on 'cmd.exe' listed above and select 'Run as Administrator'
This will open a command prompt. (as an Administrative account in Vista/Windows 7)
-    Type in 'sfc /scannow' and enter
This will start the Windows System file checker, it will take some time to run through. If it needs to, it will replace any damaged or missing Windows
system files. You must restart after the System File Checker completes.

If this doesn't correct the issue, or you don't have installation media, you may need to contact your computer supplier/system administrator and/or an IT professional to correct this.

Safari on Mac OSX
You require OSX 10.5.x or 10.6.x. The Safari addon will not function on older versions.
To check your version, select the apple in teh top right hand corner, and select 'About my Mac'
When you connect to the DVR, scroll down the page and select the appropriate add-on to install.
