To install this firmware, follow the below steps:
- Insert your USB into the DVR (front or back port)
- Select 'Backup'
- Select 'Format Device' (Note: This will erase all data on the USB stick!)
- Insert the USB stick into your PC
- Copy the .rom file to the USB stick
- Ensure the .rom file is in the root folder of the USB stick
- Insert the USB stick into your Killer HD DVR
- Unplug the DVR from the power.
- Leave for a few seconds
- Reconnect DVR and let it power up
The firmware update will start after a period of time. If requested Select 'Yes' to update.
The DVR will check the file 100% before starting the update
It will then start the update and display the percentage. Wait for 100% on the update.

I've tried the firmware update, but the HD4 ignores the .rom file and boots as normal, and then reports "USB Storage Unformat" on the screen. Any ideas? The USB stick required formatting to FAT32 before it would work in the DVR.

I've updated my Killer HD8 with the latest firmware and when revieing footage from either the list or from date/tiem entry, the unit freezes and then reboots. I have tried formatting the unit but this does not help. Is it possible to downgrade to a previous version? TeckiTim: Yes it can be downgraded. I will post the the 2 previous versions for download.
